Women Told To Leave Town For Births

EXPECTANT women in the Blue Mountains have been told that as of today they can no longer give birth at their local hospital because of staff shortages, and will have to travel to Nepean or Lithgow hospitals.

THE suicide of one of Australia's worst serial killers has been greeted with mixed emotions by his victim's relatives. John Wayne Glover, 62, hanged himself inside Lithgow jail on Friday while serving life for the murders of six elderly women on Sydney's North Shore in 1989 and 1990. Known as the "Granny Killer", Glover bashed his victims to death but maintained what appeared to be a normal existence as a family man.
